Re: Dependent children included in the application

As application states: "If you are divorced or separated, you must include proof that you have custody of the children, that you have fulfilled all obligations in custody agreements, and that the children are free to move to Canada"

Anyone have advice on how to write a letter for spouse whom has custodial custody, bringing her 3 yr old daughter and The father (never were they married) whom has non-custodial custody and is fully willing to cooperate in any such letters and willing to allow child to move to canada.

Thanks
For my step daughters, we had a laywer draw up a letter (in spanish and english) stating that their mother was granting us (my husband and I) full primary custody of the children and that she authorizes them to have their primary residence in Canada...

It was signed by the mother in the presence of the lawyer and notarized. He made 6 originals of each language, one for each my husband and I, one for the Mother, one for Immigration Canada and two for him to keep on file.

We arent far into the process yet - but that letter got us past the sponsorship approval part, so Im assuming it will be acepted by the consulate as well.

Hope that helps.
If you send me your email address I will send you an example of what I submitted in the same situation. I basically copied the verbage from my divorce/custody agreement - because, while I had sole physical custody, the agreement gave us joint legal custody to make decisions about where she would live and go to school, etc. So I needed his consent for her to move. So then he signed consent for her to immigrate and go to school in Canada.
