Hi all,

My permanent resident application has been approved :bliss:and I have until Oct. 31st. to land. I'm leaving on July 1st. for two months in the UK. I was thinking of landing when I fly back to Vancouver, BC at the end of August.

Obviously I won't have many personal belongings with me, and I plan to keep my home in WA for awhile so I'll be listing anything I may want to bring over later. I know I need to fill out form B4 with the goods to follow - which makes me want to put off landing! - but I'm wondering about my car. Do I need to bring the title with me to the UK so I have it to show when I land? Isn't there a fee that will have to be paid for the car at the time I land?

Thanks for the help.Thumbsup

1. Your car has to be listed on the goods to follow.
2. You need to both export your car from the US and Import it to Canada.
3. For import, check http://www.riv.ca everything is there, make sure the car is on the list of importable vehicles.
4. To export the car from the US http://tinyurl.com/6c4d67 note that you have to have clear title or permission from the lender to export (unlikely) and that you have to fax a copy of the title to the US customs port 72 hours in advance.
