I got an email today from Buffalo saying the transferred my file to NYC in order to expedite the processing time. What does this mean? Is this good?

It just means that Buffalo is way too busy to meet their official deadlines so they have to transfer some files so they can keep up.

That's 3 transfers out of Buffalo recently....very heartening!

You have to wonder WHY Buffalo waited so long to start transferring files... They have been backed up for months, on both permanent and temporary visas. (They even shut down the Buffalo office for a week in June to focus on clearing the temp visa backlog!)

Wouldn't it have made sense to transfer files back then to relieve some of the backlog? Especially for those of us who have seen NO movement in months (the notorious Nov-Feb group!), while more recent applicants have already landed!

Tequila, can you tell me how you know your medicals were received? Congrats on your letter.

I received an update on Ecas on July 4th telling me the Medicals were received. The Email I got yesterday saying they transferred my file to NYC said "do not contact us for an update for the next 90 days, do not email Buffalo they no longer have your file" So im assuming it's going to be awhile.. Breaks my heart i've been waiting 2 years to be with my Husband. :( And now when we do get approved we have to drive all the way to the city (3 hours) away to get my passport stamped, no way im mailing anything from this point on!
