Hi
Under personal History section..........the applicant application indicates put all activity down from the age of 18 years old.
Under the Immigrant Guide it states "put all activity down for the past 10 years..
Which is it.............the applicant is in his 60's do they want over 40 years of everything he has done?
Or does he just go back as far as he can remember?
Why aren't these questions clearer?? Now were stuck again on this paperwork....
Help
Bunny x.............thanks
They are looking for information relevant to ADULT-HOOD, and hince the reference to information after 18 years of age. [that's the first point]. They are looking for information in the past 10 years - so it would be for your spouse bet ween 50 and 60 years of age. [second point]
They mention that on the application because if the person who applies is (for example) 22 years of age, anything before 4 years ago, would not be relevant on the application - as they would have been a minor. That is why they say that.
I put down everything I could think of, from being a Camp Fire Girl to being a member of the Sierra Club in college (cute guy involved). I was afraid they might think I was an eco-terrorist plant. I was fuzzy on a few dates, and used a background check my husband ran on me to find out all the old addresses I lived at that I couldn't remember.

Sorry that is not correct, you have to account from the age 18. From the application guide.
"11. Personal history. - You must account for every month during the past 10 years or since the age of 18,
whichever period is longer. Under âActivityâ, print your occupation or job title if you were
working. If you were not working, enter what you were doing (for example, unemployed, studying, travelling)." IMM 3999E
So a 50 year old would have to cover 32 years from 18 to 50 and a 24 year old would cover from 14 to 24.

Sadly, yeah they need it ALL back to 18. I was tripped up by that confusion as well and even called CIC and they told me just to put down the last 10 years. Well, guess what? Yeah, Buffalo kicked it back to me and required I give them everything back to 18.
I also used a background check service (it was around $40) to track down addresses I had during college. I moved 14 times in 2 years and I had no record of addresses that old!
