I was just wondering how long it usually takes for Buffalo to start processing so I can look at the status of my application on the CIC website?
For us is was about three weeks from the time sponsorship was approved to when Buffalo showed our file was logged in and in process. At that point I could no longer log in with my client ID# and get information, and then about a week later we got the AOR with the file number and I was able to use that to log in to eCAS for updates.

Unfortunately, Buffalo really doesn't do updates - our case said "In Process" and "Medicals Received" from Day 1 and never changed again until it said "Decision Made" 8 months later.
I do not recall how long it was. Seemed a very long time. Five or six weeks after submitting the app to CPC-M.

While eCas would not recognize any of the identification methods I tried to use (receipt number, client ID, and so on) until . . . sheesh, hard to recall for sure whether it was once CPC-M approved my sponsor or Buffalo started processing . . . but I vaguely recall that perhaps only the receipt number worked for a brief period showing a decision made on the sponsor's sponsorship app, using my wife's name and DOB and such, and then later, after we received the Decision of my wife's sponsorship app she then had a "client #" which would also work in conjunction with her name and such . . . and then, once Buffalo started processing it, all the various methods of identification we had worked . . . but of course the idenfication method used had to match the personal info (wife's client number only worked with her name and dob; while my client number only worked in conjunction with my name and dob) and what information came up depended on whose identification we put in . . . putting in my wife's identification did not give us any details beyond the sponsorship approval, for example.

Thus, after Buffalo started processing I could log in using my client ID# or file number or receipt number during the whole process, . . . and indeed can still log in using the same client ID number given me many years ago on a Visitor's Record . . . now showing PR app status as "Complete" (but still showing my previous mailing address, even though my PR card was mailed to our current address, for what it matters).

Edit to add: Just remembered that my original client ID # (again, going back years to my first Visitor's Record) is actually the number that also appears on my PR card.
