Hello all!
My name is Jen, and I\'m a 24 year old from Pennsylvania. I met my incredible 22 year old boyfriend, who resides in Ontario under landed immigrant status but has dual citizenship with the US and UK, about a year ago. We met each other on a Volvo enthusiast\'s forum and clicked right away. Neither of us are into \'online dating,\' so I went up in June of \'10 and we knew that there would be nobody else for us. Relationship has been official since June 30th. We\'ve made many trips back and forth to see each other. Probably about 5 on my part, mostly about a month apart and something like that on his part as well, up until the Christmas season. Since then, I started a new job and he\'s been the only one making trips. But I\'ll be making a trip up at the end of June for our 1 year anniversary.
It\'s getting very difficult to be apart. Even if we had to do this forever, we would make it work. But we\'d really prefer to avoid any more extensive heartache. We\'re both very affectionate people who need that contact of seeing and holding each other every day. Neither of us have ever felt so close to someone. We\'ve both been in long-term relationships (6 years for me, 4 for him) and know what love and commitment are, for sure. Despite the relatively short duration of our relationship so far, we know that this is unlike anything we\'ve ever experienced, and we are forever. Ultimately, I\'m looking to immigrate to Canada under legal means. He has a US citizenship, but neither of us like the states very much and would prefer Canada. I\'ll be posting in the temporary resident sub-forum to get some help shortly. Any advice or suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated! :)
