Hi everyone,
I went to get my four immigration photos the other day, and the fingerprinting/photo shop I went to, which apparently does tons of these, did them two at a time on an instant camera. I looked closer at the instructions and they say the photos have to be identical -- wondering if I need to get them redone and have them use the same negative for all four.
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks!
Sorry, can't help with that, but will be interested in the answer.
On the same topic, could someone clarify we need FOUR pictures...the "instruction manual" I pulled says FIVE recent photos. The doctor's office I called in the states also said they need FOUR pictures.
Also, the instructions say these are NOT the same as passport pictures. I do have the printout to take to the photoshop, but since this is an ex (who is being very co-operative) having pictures of a child done, I just want to make sure we have all our bases covered to make her job easier.
If you're doing an outland application, then the needed number of photos you have to send is in the regional instructions manual, which can be found
here. Check the one that applies to you. It should be 4 for the US I believe, it's 8 for most of Europe.
The photos that you need for the medical are NOT included in there, that just lists how many you have to send, so check with the DMP how many they need. I think mine took some 4 or 5? I had 16 made, just to be sure I wouldn't run out of them ;)
The passport photos are a bigger format than the ones you need for this. I took the photo specifications with me to the photographer and she had no trouble taking them.
aubade, I would redo them. If for nothing else than for my peace of mind. If they ask for identical photos, then it's best to provide identical photos.
Thanks, mitamata, I asked the doctor how many photos they needed and they said "four, including the ones to be sent in"; however, I think I'm going to ask for eight just to make sure. Better safe than sorry!
Jayne, you might want to check out Shoppers Drug Mart and get your photos done there. They have the exact size needed, etc when it comes to Immgration photos.
Make SURE you carry in the paper outlining the exact sizes for them.
Went thru a headache with the local walmart here as they knew better so I trusted them got home had to go back and have them redone ;)
and yes get the 8.
I had the first batch made for medical then had to get more done for the visa and pr card
I got 8 pictures. Well, actually I got 12 just in case, and I needed a few of them for my medical exam. But 8 in the envelope that you send away for PR processing.
Thanks! This helps to clear things up.
