Hi all!

My husband is currently with me on a working holiday visa (he is British) and we started our application in January (10th 2011) and I was approved as a sponsor on February 4th 2011.. Our application was forwarded to Buffalo.

We\\\'re still waiting for any news from Buffalo at all. I see on these threads that some people were able to see their status on e-cas.. right now we can only see my status as the sponsor (from my receipt #) Any ideas on how we might find out what\\\'s going on? Is 2 months normal to hear from Buffalo that they\\\'ve received anything? We\\\'re a bit worried because his working holiday Visa is up end of September and he\\\'ll have to drop the job.

Lonely

Thank you very much! Biting nails.. waiting...
Hi - I\'m in the same position. We applied for spousal immigration on Jan. 1 and got sponsor approval on the Feb.1, 2011. Till to date Buffalo hasn\'t assigned a file number to our application, hence we can\'t see the status on e-cas either. We only see sponsor\'s status (that the app has been approved and forwarded to Buffalo)

I reached out to Buffalo and asked for the delay, they told us that they are currently working on apps received on Jan. 17, 2011 which means I wont get a file number until the 20th of this month. Yours will be after or around the same date. Hope this helps.
Oh wow thanks! That\'s good to know.. yeah we probably won\'t get a reply for a while then, but really good to know its not just our application being weird :P

Fingers crossed! I hope you get your\'s soon! Thanks for telling us what they told you, no idea how to contact them..

Whistle
Ok so if We got approved to sponsor on Feb 7th then Buffalo should be getting us stsrted this month????? Some people are going through soooo fast...
We\'re in the same boat as you all. Our sponsorship approval was Feb. 14. Here\'s to hoping we all hear back from Buffalo in the next few weeks!
Nice to see we\'re all in the same timeline :)

Just curious MCMonkey, how do you know that Buffalo received your application ( I saw in your timeline). Our E-cas just says \'not available\'.

Thanks!
When we log in to the e-cas using my wife\'s info (she\'s the sponsor), the PR App Status section says \"Application Received\". Then when we click on that, it says \"We received [your] application for permanent residence on February 24, 2011.\"
I got an email from buffalo saying that they have received my application.
Oh darn, that\'s what we\'ve been waiting for, our sponsorship approval happened on Feb 4th but Buffalo haven\'t sent us anything yet and e-cas just says \'not available\'. Getting worried :(

It\'s been more than 2 months now, and they haven\'t received it?? I\'m worried they\'ve lost it in the mail and we have to start over, so many documents to re-apply for (my husband\'s lived in UK, Australia and Canada, so police checks for all those).
I think it was around 2 months when I got it. Just wait a bit longer, they treat every case differently. You might not ever even get that email. So I know its really hard but try to relax for now. You are still within a normal time frame for the way things can go. If that makes sense lol.
Aw thanks for the support!! You guys rule :D
Definitely makes me feel better.
Yeah its hard, we submitted a full application (all docs) but even just after approval of the sponsorship, they lost 1 doc and misspelled my name, though I hear that happens. We also sent half our stuff to London (which was our chosen office) when we found out it was Buffalo, we resent them the lost bits.
In Australia it took 1 day to process the whole thing! (I\'m also an Australian Citizen) And we had an officer we could ring up any time who was personally processing our case. So really not used to this black hole of mystery and the waiting, we\'ve been spoiled!
If 2 months is normal that\'s really good news though, got all my fingers and toes crossed!
I\'m on a break from work for the summer (I work in the film industry, downtime) so its doubly stressful when we\'re depending on my husband\'s income, at least he can work here for now on working holiday visa!
Here\'s hoping all this comes to fruition before September!
There really is no normal when it comes to CIC. There are \"trends\" So even if it doesnt seem like your application processing is matching up with anyone else\'s, still try to relax. Try not to compare (I know that is impossible) cause it will only cause stress. I sent in my app when the \"trend\" seemed to be that everyone was getting finished in two to three months, and here I am 8 months later and FINALLY I got PPR!

It is indeed a black hole of mystery. You just have to suck it up :/.
Thanks Rene!!

Hard to not compare when its so important though, and its all we have to go off. I\'m not really sure what the trend right now is, I was just surprised not to get any confirmation that they\'ve at least received it.

Same happened with my recent Resident Card renewal here in Canada. I didn\'t get any confirmation that they\'d received it for 5 months, and then they processed it in 1 day! Just seems like a very stressful and antiquated system. At least seems like its speeding up recently. Their estimate for the Card was 200 days, but they did it in 1!

The important thing to me is that if something is needed on our end, we\'d like to know as soon as possible so we can speed up the process. A friend of our\'s had their application processed in Buffalo, and they didn\'t get anything for 2 years! In the end they drove to Buffalo, talked to cic, they said that it was \'processing\' and then it was mysteriously done the next day! They must have just had it lying on the shelf or something for those 2 years and were \'reminded\' that it was there. I\'m always ready for a worst case scenario, and hoping for a best case :) But will do the max effort on my end so expect the same professionalism from the cic end.
We never received an email, approval came in the snail mail.
They also asked for papers that we KNOW were in the original package. Easier to just suck it up and resend what they need...why argue? However, all-in-all, still only took five months to get PR status; so you still have time before the working visa runs out.
Oh cool, thanks for the reply Jayne! Reassuring that we\'re not the only ones.
And I hear ya, they already lost one of our documents and we just sent on a copy too.
Yeah, I\'m hoping that once they do start it it will be a quick process, so long as no police checks are lost (the UK and Australian ones take a few months to redo).

Thanks again everyone! I\'m looking out for the mail :D
