in the process of filling out the forms, my wife is asked in IMM5540, We have a questions about the questions about her father.

Her mother remarried when he biological parents divorced. She remarried and he adopted her. He was a real piece of shit who used his fists on both of them.
The last thing she wants to do is hunt down the prick and ask him his address (well not for PR sponsor aplic anyway!!)
Can it be left blank?

No, put address unknown. Don\'t leave any blanks in the form, always use N/A if it doesn\'t apply.
We wrote my husband dads informations like his name and date of birth, but since they dont talk anymore, we wrote N/A in his address section
We did that as well for my sposor\'s father, who magically disappeared when my sponsor\'s mom conceived. We just put Unknown in his address section.
