Hello All,

Because of all the loneliness my husband and I feels, we decided for him to come and visit me here in Canada while we wait for our papers to get process. I\\\'ve notice that some people in here lives with their significant others with no problems.

As mentioned on my topic: http://roadtocanada.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=6572

When my husband came to canada for visit, they detained him for two hours!!!! As he is a honest man, when they asked what he\\\'s going to do here, he said get married. When asked when was the last time he saw his fiancee, he said \\\"never\\\" immediately they questioned him. they stamped his passport that he needs to leave canada after 3 months (which he did) and may never allow to enter again until he is PR. This is stamped on his passport, and whoever border official will see it.

If he have our application papers (in process), with return ticket, letter of employment from his job. Are they going to question him again because of what happen before? I am panicking that they will since they stamped the passport before, then he reported to the immigration.

I am from vancouver and he is from new york. We are planning for him to land at bellingham, then take the train to vancouver. will this be easier than air?
They might question him, but if he has proofs of ties to the u.s, like i mentioned in your other post, he should be fine.
It really depends on which officers he will talk too, sometimes he will get a real nice one, sometimes a grumpy one etc.
He just need to say that hes coming in canada to visit his wife, for a bit.
Then if they ask more questions, he can say that you guys are in process for his PPR and he can shows his proofs that he will be returning.
Will it be easier if I pick him up to Bellingham and we can both cross the border together?

Also, will CIC, send some mails to his USA Address? Then that is trouble, cause he won\'t be there...

:( I\'m really confuse now!
Did you put an email address in your application?
All our stuff, letters, passport request, was sent to us by email.
How long does he plan on visit you?
Air, Or Land, will pretty much be the same thing, unless you want him to stay with you for more then a couple months.... they id say by land...
Yes. We did put his email address. So if they as for more documents, ppr etc, will it be via email?

Our plan was to get him a return ticket for one month. So, he\'ll say he will stay here for one month. If they don\'t stamp him, then he\'ll stay here for 6 months. I just want him to be with me :(
Well i can tell you 100% if they will send you EVERYTHING by email, but thats what they did for me.
If you can go and pick him up, bring with you Proofs of Paid Application receipt, Wedding Certificate, Copy of FBI check if you have one, Proofs of all his ties to the U.S and Proofs you can support him.
(letter of your employer showing you have an income)
When you arrive at the border, you will need to do all the talk, You explain them that you guys are currently waiting on PPR and you would like for your husband to stay with you in Canada while you guys wait. http://www.us2canada.com/visitorrecord.php
You guys would be set for awhile :)
I meant Cant* not Can sorry
If you accompany him crossing the border there is a far better chance of getting at least a 6 month visa/stamp. If he goes by air you cannot go through with him unless you are on the same flight. Mileage will always vary, but I crossed with my wife when I came to visit while the PR was in process, they asked about our finances and living situation after we explained we wanted to be together while PR app was in process. We took our receipt for the PR app and our marriage certificate.
Given his history with the border, I would suggest you go through with your idea of having him fly to Bellingham and you go pick him up. Having you there to support him would be a definite plus.
Thank you for all your replies guys! I’m just worried that the border official will flag us because he is from New York and why is he flying to Bellingham not straight to Vancouver. Because they questioned him before? I hope not…

Also… for his return ticket, would it be safer if we get him 2 weeks? We can just say that he is staying here for that long, and extend it after? Or a month will be fine?
A lot of people fly to Bellingham as the flights are cheaper! I know people who drive from Vancouver to Bellingham to fly out to Vegas, etc.
If you want him to stay longer, i still suggest you going to pick him up and applying for a visitor record
Yeah, the flight from the US to canada makes up most of the ticket price. =/
