No it is not a sponsorship approval letter. It just tells us they are processing out application in CPC. Did anyone receive the same thing or you guys receive only the approval letter from CPC?

We only received 2 letters via snail mail: one was the sponsorship approval to me (the sponsor) saying they've forwarded it to Buffalo and the other was from Buffalo to my husband in the US saying they received his application and it's in queue to be processed.

The final letter was emailed to my husband saying they "are now at the stage where we request your passport".

We sent our application to Mississauga and tracked it so I knew they got it. Then the next letter we got was the sponsorship approval letter because the sponsorship has to be approved first before they will process the application because if the sponsor doesn't qualify they won't waste their time.

Then after we got the sponsorship approval letter which states they are sending the file to Buffalo and then we waited for an acknowledgment. I got the Passport request before I saw that a decision was made but they were within a day of each other. One was in email and the other came on e-CAS. :)

Hi Blackmoon ... received snail mail letter saying sponsorship application had been approved and file was being forwarded to Buffalo for processing of permanent resident application. Perhaps it's something new that CIC is doing .. a confirmation letter to let you know they've received the app?? Maybe they're attempting to work at the customer service aspect of things *L*
