Hi, me [IRISH], my Canadian born wife & 2 irish born kids are heading over to Ontario 2nd week in Sept. and I have a few questions and not sure were to post....

I know that they will be fine through birth & having a Canadian mother..... BUT:
When are they covered for health?
When will I be covered for health?
Is all my wife has to do is go and show them her birth cert?
Until my PR is granted, will I be just a house husband? or can I work a certain number of hours?
Can I pay my car insurance monthly?
Can I fast track my full Irish driving licence to a full G type (got an international)
If, there is an emergency back in Irealnd, can I return without affecting my PR application?

We are going to arrive and apply through the NY, USA office in Buffalo for my PR, and i personally know the IRISH Minister of Foreign Aid, if that will speed things up??
Your wife and children will have to live in Ontario for 3 months before they are eligible for OHIP. If you can, I would recommend getting traveller's insurance in Ireland before you leave. Yes, she will need to show birth certificate, as well as proof of residency. See this page for more information: http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/ohip/

Until PR is granted, you cannot legally work in Canada, unless you were to find an employer willing and able to support your application for a work permit. You can volunteer, but only if it's not in a position a Canadian would normally be paid to do.

Car insurance depends on your insurer. Mine's a monthly payment. Get whatever you can to prove your driving record in Ireland, so that you can get experienced driver rates with your new insurer in Ontario. You'll need this to exchange your license for a full G one as well. See here for details: http://www.drivetest.ca/en/license/OutOf...ivers.aspx

Yes, you can return to Ireland without jeopardizing your application, as long as you apply "outland". Unless you get initially admitted to Canada on a visitor record for at least 1 year, though, you won't be applying through Buffalo (which is responsible for applications from US citizens and people admitted to Canada for at least 1 year), it will be through whatever office is responsible for Ireland, which appears to be London: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information...here.asp#i

Knowing the Irish minister of Foreign Aid has nothing to do with anything, sorry.

I recommend getting your police certificates and application together before heading over here. Have you read through the application forms and packages?

It's unfortunate that you haven't already applied, as recommended by Robsluv and Dpenabill in your previous posts.
