wow I can\'t believe how long it takes to process citizenship! I can apply for citizenship in March this year, it\'s only been 2 years since I landed but because I was in Canada for many years before I got my PR I get to take a year off! woohoo! Looks like I\'ll be spending that year waiting to hear back from CIC! Anyway, I\'m excited to become a real Canadian finally :)
My signing in will be January 21st. 11 more days. Unbelievable.
My application shows \"In Process\" status

Hoping for The Best, from now on!!!
I still have not even got a test date! I applied 2 years ago!
wow seriously aussie? That seems like a long time! Sounds like they only have one person working on citizenship apps in the office!! I sent my appliction off a few weeks ago so I guess I have a long time to wait.....
Application started processing on 12th April; X\'fed on 6th May; Test on 31st May; Letter dated 10th May;

WOW to CIC!
Congrats rshree. If I remember right, you live downtown Toronto? They apparently have the fastest processing times at the moment. I, on the other hand, live in Vancouver, with some of the slowest times. My application was transferred to the Vancouver office on May 6th as well, but I don\'t expect to hear from them anytime soon.

However, I am moving to Toronto in July for a new job. Trying to decide whether to transfer my application or leave it in Vancouver and fly back for test/oath. I would be glad to take advantage of Toronto\\\'s faster processing, but not sure whether transferring may delay things. For example, new background or criminal checks.

Good luck for a quick oath ceremony!
Thank you, drc. I definitely need all those wishes for a speedy Citizenship.

I wish you hear from CIC well BEFORE moving from your province. All the very Best.

Btw, Citizenship is a Federal process & that is why we all apply at one place which later get X\'fed enabling the applicant to write the test or take oath from where s-he is from. So, moving to another province will NOT trigger NEW b\'gd or criminal chks.

Good to know, thanks. There\'s still zero chance that I hear the Vancouver office before the end of June regarding my test, given their current backlog. If I get my file transferred to Toronto in early July, I would hope for a test in August and oath in September, given how quick they are in that office.
Hello old friends, Wow 3 years already!!seems like just last month we were all obsessed with Ecas and this forum lol. I am soooo very glad it is still around. It is wonderful to hear all are doing good. I am getting ready to do my citizenship as well, good luck and God speed to all.
Received Invitation to take the Oath on 22-July-2011.
It does feel great to know this whole process is getting over!!!
Good Luck to those who are still waiting.
Congrats, rshree!
I have put in a request to have my file transferred to Toronto as I'm moving there in a couple of weeks. Hopefully this will not delay things too much.

Congrats, Rshree!

The 'queen' is Canadian :)
Hi folks,

I haven't been around much lately I know - very busy with Leadnow which is starting to take off, and getting ready for the Ontario election.

Anyway I got a request for fingerprints last week and just sent those off digitally on Monday.

After the black hole my PR file fell into at CSIS for 7 months (I have to assume because of my work on politics and advocacy) I've been kind of expecting something similar with the citizenship app, but who knows - maybe it'll only be a quick fingerprint check.

(Of course, if you're a convicted fraudster you can work for the Prime Minister no questions asked ;)

Anyone know how long citizenship fingerprint checks done digitally take to get processed?

Hope you're all doing well.

Matthew
