Hi all-- I was on the Buffalo website and it said "please allow 20 weeks to receive a receipt/letter" type deal. My sponsorship was approved June 29th and I received the letter from Mississauga saying that they had forwarded our app to Buffalo. Does it really take 20 weeks for them to BEGIN processing our file in Buffalo??? How long did everyone else have to wait for a letter from there?? I'd love to call Buffalo and be able to ask if they even received our file or if they are infact processing it.. but I believe they dont welcome phone calls...
Currently it's taking 4-10 months to complete, so 20 weeks doesn't sound too unrealistic. I don't think it necessarily means they won't even look at your file for 20 weeks though. But I'm thinking Mississauga is giving you a somewhere in the middle estimation...just my guess.
I don't think they would want you calling them, especially if Mississauga says 20 weeks... I would guess that you shouldn't even think of calling them until after 20 weeks.
All you can do is sit tight and try to live your life as normal as possible. I'm in the same boat as you.
Sent my file in June 26th. Waiting for my sponsorship approval to go through and be sent to Buffalo.
I'm in the same situation.. I read information on another message board, and applicants from earlier in the year seemed to get AOR after about a month.. but lately they are being slow. There is a thread with May applicants there, and nobody from Buffalo has gotten AOR yet! I really don't know what's going on there but they need to pick up the pace! How hard is it to just let us know that our file got there ok?

The wait and the unknown is very frustrating!! We're bracing ourselves for a long wait, hoping that if it is quicker then it will be a pleasant surprise! Scrabble anyone?

Sending your application via a trackable method (Xpresspost, Fed-ex, etc) lets you know that it's arrived

We are talking about arriving in Buffalo. My sponsorship was approved over a month ago and it's the Canadian government that mails it from Mississauga to Buffalo.
Yeah my husband is waiting it out as a visitor too... lucky me working full time and paying for everything! The things you do to be together I guess.. and he is very, very bored as well.
It's not good for your self esteem!! But we're moving to a new place and I am doing a LOT of work lately! :) So I feel useful again! I'm going to try to get into some unpaid volunteer work soon, so hopefully that will help!
On another message board, someone contacted Buffalo last week and they said they were processing files up to June 4th.. and then that same person got an 'in process' today, so maybe we will all hear something soon :D
My ecas updated on a Thursday last time, so maybe it will always update then instead of Tuesdays? Who knows! :p
