Hi,
I am a Canadian citizen, my wife lives in the U.S. My wife and her son have been approved and received their Perm Res status. I am flying to Tenn, we will drive back in a Uhaul and she will land. As soon as she lands we go to Manitoba Health and register. she is automatically covered by Manitoba Health. Her son will fly at a later date to land via Winnipeg Airport. He too will register with Manitoba Health and be covered, no waiting period.
Here is the question, he wants to buy a motorcycle and drive it in Tenn. At the moment he does not have health insurance. He is going back to Tenn to live with her parents (grandparents) till he gets accepted to the Marines.
As a Perm Res, to be covered while he is in Tenn, he will have to have some kind of Blue Cross Travel Insurance? And if he drives a motorcycle in Tenn, even as a Perm Res of Canada, he will need Travel Insurance in the event of an accident to be covered for hospital stuff. Just like when I go to visit, I buy Travel Insurance?
Not sure what the policy is when he joins the Marines. Will the U.S. Marine Corps pay for his Health Insurance. The only cautious move would be to wait till he enlists, see who he will be covered by, then he can get a motorcycle?
Sorry if this is the wrong section to be posting this, if it is please move this thread and I will follow up there.
Thanks, seems collectively, someone here has seen most every scenario.
