Just have question. Wanted to see if someone could clarify for me. I saw something posted earlier this year that said that after you land you can immediately turn around and go back home to settle affairs. So I wasn't worried about landing and then coming back home to finish my lease agreement and give notice to my job. But I got a letter back today of my approval for permanent resideance and a landing date. On the letter it has

"The Canada Border Services AGency Officer at the Port of Entry will check your visa and travel documents and ask you questions. If there are no difficulties, he/she will authorize your admission to Canada as a permanent resident. The Canada Border Services Agency Officer will also begin the application for your Permanent Resident Card.

You should wait until you have your permanent Resident card to travel outside of Canada. If not, you will have to apply for a Travel Document (Permanent Resident Abroad) before you re-enter Canada"

Since I had planned on taking a week off and visiting next we, we thought I might as well land and bring some of my stuff up, but does this mean I can't go back home to the states? Or if I don't land, Does that I can only go once unless I land because my visa say one under number of entries.

Thanks
Your original plan is just fine. You will to give them an address in Canada where the PR card will be sent and from there it can be mailed to you. It does take a while to get it though, 3-6 weeks I think. I've been waiting for a month.

If you're driving there, then it's no problem, you won't need the PR card to cross the border, just have your passport and COPR. From my understanding, the PR card is mostly required by airlines as proof you will be allowed entry to Canada - else they'd have to take you back ;) But that isn't always the case, my mother-in-law has been without hers for years and she's been flying freely with no issues.
