thought I would post this before we get anyone hyperventilating over today's election news.
FACTS -
Canada is in election mode as of today. Goverment has lost confidence in the party in power - the Liberals. Date is still to be set but it will be likely mid January. We will know Tuesday.
For now, and for the foreseeable future we will see ZERO impact to immigration and immigration policy. Politicians have far bigger issues on their radar. If the Liberals win again it will be same old. (don't know about you, but I would prefer some changes!)
So, RELAX. don't worry about points changing over night, or intake targets being cut in half - it simply won't happen.
Instead... watch one of the most interesting elections in Canadian memory. We have absolutely no idea who is going to win this one. Maybe we will have our own version of Ohio!

I bet Liberal minority again!

Jan 23 is the day. polls out today indicate that Canada is expecting virtually the same government as they just threw out. Only in Canada.
[sarcasm]Yep, I think we need another French Liberal in power, that would make for a fresh change....[/sarcasm]
Aren't they expecting another Minority Government, but with the NDP loosing seats, the Bloc gaining some from the Liberals, and a small Tory increase?
I have not heard a poll in the last few days. The polls were all wrong last election. I heard a polling company talk about how the data is getting messed up because the refusal rates are getting so high- in terms of participation.
I don't think we are going to know how the wind is blowing until early January.

Liberal gonna get wipe out in Quebec!! B.C will be NDP,
Alberta, Saskachewan, Manitoba, Conservative.
Ontario, Liberal, Quebec, BLQC.
Atlantic, conservative.
Belinda Stronach will be kicked out from Newmarket On!!!!
That's my prediction
Liberal might be minority
that's my prediction.
you are probably right. Belinda will be interesting to watch.

but Belinda is hot I admit!!!!
Well, I'm not there, I can only observe via internet.
But. . .
From when I have lived and studied in Quebec, and from I've been viewing, the Liberals are going to get obliterated in Quebec. DB, you're probably right. It of course begs the big question, the perpetual question, Quebec Sovereinty- La Republique de Quebec.
The rest, I don't know enough about BC to say if it will go NDP or not. You all know I support the NDP (sorry Joohilya). It will be interesting to watch.
LOL... I want Jack Layton to lead the Liberal party and put Harper in as finance minister. that would work for me.
In BC- cities will go NDP, rest of the province will go Conservative. how's that for a ying and yang
