Hi

I never recieved a letter approving my sponsorship but on the government site where I check the journey of application it reads "decision made" on sponsorship app. and indicates they have received and are starting my husband's application....it reads "in Process"

Do they always send a letter approving sponsorship because I never did get one if they do.

Thanks Bunny
Hi Bunny
if you have filed for outland application your sponsor suppose to get AOR (Acknowledgment of receipt) from CPC-M (Mississauga) stating whether sponsorship was approved or not. It usually takes 30-45 days from the date your application was received my CPC-M. That letter usually contains your sponsor's client ID and information stating that where your file has been transferred. They also include form if any forms are missing with your application (That's what happened to me). After they send the file to the Canadian visa or consulate office, consulate office also going to send you another AOR. In that AOR they include your file number and the time they have received the file and so on.
***Please note if you have applied via CPC-V (Vegreville) you will not get any AOR.
What's the date on the sponsorship decision?
I think it was about a week-10 days after e-cas show sponsorship DM until we received the letter.

Hi Derbygirl

It reads decision made on sponsorship .... letter sent Aug. 6th but I never received the letter and now it says my husbands app is in process.

Sent to Mississauga and now on to Buffalo.

I will phone them tomorrow I guess and find out if anything.

What do you think.....

Bunny
I'd say the fact that it's still processing is a good sign :)
You can call CIC & find out how the sponsorship went - they can't tell you anything else as the file is now in Buffalo

Add - I'd also confirm your address with them & ask them to send another copy of the sponsorship decision letter so that you have it for your records

My wife received her letter of Sponsorship Approved April 20, where they also indicated my PR application had been forwarded to Buffalo. On May 26 the Buffalo office sent me a form letter and some bar-code stickers and said that my app was in a queue awaiting assessment.

I cannot yet find my status in e_CAS using my Immigration file number. As I understand it, that only indicates that they have not yet begun to "process" my application. When they do I should be able to see that indicated as an "In Process" status will then be posted in e-CAS. Do I have this all right?

I haven't paid the application fee yet, that won't prevent my status from being posted will it?

Also, the processing times that are shown on the website... are they timed from when the application was received, or does the time shown (currently four months in Buffalo) start only after they begin processing?

Many thanks to all responsible for this forum, when it went off-line for a while I was nearly grief-stricken, and worried it might never come back. This, to me, is the BEST place to get knowledgeable answers to the myriad of questions you have when going through this process.

I don't think they will proceed to the next step until it's paid.

Aug 6th? Perhaps they aren't sending it out until Aug 6th?

Note the date on the post -- this thread is from last year. iamlabfromchi, maybe you should make a new thread with your question in it, to get answers appropriate to your specific situation.

Bunny is the sponsor, and the sponsor doesn't get an AOR from CPC-M. The sponsor gets a decision notifying them of the decision on the sponsor's assessment.

Bunny - if you elected to have your application withdrawn if the sponsorship was not approved, you can be pretty sure the decision was positive simply because it appears the application has been transferred now the the overseas office. Your hubby will get an AOR from them, giving him the file number and asking for any documents or info that might be missing or necessary to complete processing.

Like DerbyGirl says, it might take some time for the decision letter to reach you - but I would think you'd have received it before eCAS showed "In Process" for the overseas office. Are you sure they have your correct mailing address?
