I need to submit my passport to get visa and land in canada.
Q1: When I resbumited my form during Oct, 2004. I mentioned in form that I got married and wrote my spouse name. But did´nt send any fee for her ? does it requires to send separate processing or landing fee for her ?

Q2: I didnt told about our new child born. Does the child also requries any processing or landing fee.

Bascially I wanna go alone to canada get PR Card get back to US, and later if needed get my spouse and child canadian immigration. Why ? well bcoz my spouse has US-GreenCard and my child is US-Citizen.

I like to know your plus and minus views please

Thx 4 reading.

well I'm far from an expert so i'm sure someone else will step up to bat at this question, but as far as I know, if you ever have intention of getting your spouse and child into canada, CIC needs to know about them, medicals done as well as paying the fees. Otherwise they may never be admisible for you to sponsor them and live in canada with you.

anyone?...
I am not 100% sure I am understanding n2c's post but here is what I know. Spouse and children must be listed on the principle's application even if settlement is intended for a later time. Should n2c land without disclosing his wife and children, he would forfeit any future opportunity for them to join him in Canada.

If they have been listed, he is free to sponsor them any time after he has established his PR. You do not pay fees for your family until you file the sponsorship immigration documents
Thanks for writing.

So you mean. When I send my passport to get immigration visa. I can inform them about my new child. (Spouse name already mentioned earlier). bascially I can get visa, land in canada get PR, n establishe myself and can call my spouse and child ????

So just giving infomation to seattle Consulate of Canada will not demand for family fee. And how long will it take them to land in canada once I file for them from canada.

Also how long do I need to stay in canada to get my PR card, and medical card etc., My deadline is to land before Nov, 2006. And I can just move, I have to wrap up things and find job in canada and get move there until I wanna keep working in US on my H1 visa. so I planned to take off for few weeks, get PR Card and return to US. How long is it taking these days to get all this stuff...

Update CIC with the information about your wife and children ASAP. If you don't, you'd be lying to them, and this means you could lose your PR and/or get deported at a later date.

If your wife will be landing with you, you will have to pay a fee for her as well, but CIC will notify you of this after they receive your updated information. Every individual who lands in Canada (with some exceptions such as refugees) must pay a separate right of landing fee.

If you have not submitted a sponsorship application for your wife and child, you will need to apply for sponsorship before they will be permitted to land with you in Canada. For more info:

There is no right of landing free for dependant children.

If you are applying to sponsor your wife and child for the first time, you will be required to pay additional processing fees, yes.

The processing times vary. Go here to find your location and the processing times for that location:

If you read the link I posted above, you'll learn that PR's are required to remain in Canada while sponsoring their families. Medical depends upon the province you land in, but most people get their health cards within or less than a few weeks of landing.

Take care!:)
