Hi
Does anyone know whether we still need to provide test scores for 2nd language (French) if you have met the pass mark and IA is completed? Or can I assume that since I met pass mark they would not require the test scores anymore.

If you have an answer please let me know soon so that I can cancel application to take the test. Thanks.
Eshopeful, my understanding of this process is that once you receive your IA, that means that the officer has reviewed your case and you have enough points to qualify as a skilled worker. If you already have your IA, my opinion would be that there is no need for you to take the test.

There are some others in this forum of have been around a lot longer than me who may be able to verify this.

I hate to see answers/support like this. What may seem silly or unimportant to one person is not always the case with someone else... this process is depressing and stressful enough.
once you got IA, your points have already caculated, that's why on the IA letter indicated that you met the passing mark. Do not try to confuse cic, which may delay your process
Hi
Thanks for all the clarification. It was dumb of me to spend more than $200 to take a prep course for TEF. Now that I don't need it, it was money wasted. I can't get a refund on it even though I tried.

Thanks again..I appreciate all your inputs.

Except that if the points rise to say 75 from 67 before your COPR is issued and you had 74 points, those 2 points for a basic second language would be the difference between refusal and visa.

If you read their post, you'd see that eshopeful said they ALREADY wasted the money and cannot get a refund. Harp's trying to help ...why don't you try exercising a bit less aggressive feedback, and a bit more diplomacy?
Whatever, just to let you know TEF is not free too. I assume it's 200 to start, since IELTS is like this price. My comment is just for information purpose and base on my own view, which means to me simply the best, 0 or 1, yes or no.

I am not a politician, I do not know how to pick up certain words.

I suggest you read the Immigration Regulations, having IA means nothing if the points are raised.

You do not have to be a politician to speak to others such a way that you avoid discounting their choices/opinions/suggestions.

For example, the response you initially gave eshopeful about their question was rude, because you appeared to imply that their question wasn't "urgent" enough to warrant an answer. However, you post at least three to five new threads per day, many of which are entirely unrelated to CIC, many of which do not contain any urgent topic either, and no one ever responds to you with feedback that discounts you or with feedback that questions the urgency or relevance of your posts.

I'm not trying to offend you by pointing this out, DB...and considering the number of times you've offered me unsolicited advice, I didn't think you would feel offended if I told you with absolute brutal honesty exactly what I've been thinking since I first read your response to eshopeful's question. My goal is quite simple: that we all show respect & support for one another. Take care.

Hi Harp
From looks of it, you're right. I should go ahead with the test since its money spent anyways. Who knows these people at CIC might be a little weird and decide to ask for the scores later....Confused

Cupid Dame and alll, thanks for your support.

I deal with stuff not person.
The reason why I am always off-topics. Ok, tell you why, a lot of cic crap simply has no rules no why, like timeline stuff. It's not math or computer 0 or 1. All of us have frustration if we can not get answers. There are tons of important stuff in your life compare with PR. PR process can be "weather report, it's just wind, blow everywhere" (from movie Weather man).

I am not here to screw around, period!
Cupids Dame, some people just don't get it...... Doh(sorry but I had to say it)

Eshopeful - I agree with Harp. If you have already paid out the money and no chance of a refund, it couldn't hurt you to take it. When it comes to CIC is it better to be safe rather than sorry!!! (my apologies, I didn't realize when I posted my respone earlier that you had already paid money)
