Hi
If a U.S. citizen has a 30 year arrest record for DUI with no convictions what would it mean in Canada would they consider 30 years already rehabilitated, how would they handle this.
Thanks
Bunny
So he was arrested & what happened to the charges...were they dismissed or was he acquitted?

Hi Derbygirl
He had no convictions on these arrests Illinois police clearance shows nothing nor the FBI Records. He is in the process of getting immigration the arrest records because they have asked for them. However, if there is arrest records of very old and he believes they might be DUI'S would immigration consider arrests and no convictions of 30 years ago obsolete.
I guess it's a judgement call do you think.
Thanks

I would not worry too much about it, especially if no conviction, my hubby had arrest for dui in 2001 however it was discharged and record was expunged, the VO noted that since it was a non-conviction this did not make him inadmissable to Canada. Good Luck
