A month ago, when checking CAS, it stated that a decision was made regarding my PR app. Finally, we got a letter yesterday. It said the following :
"We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in Oshawa will contact you concerning your permanent residence status."
"At the time of your appointment, you and your family members will be required to present the original identification documents to the Canada Immigration Centre. A final decision will be made at that time."
I'm assuming this is neither an approval or denial, but rather a "we need to meet with you and then we'll decide". Am I correct in assuming this? Anyone know how long after getting this letter it will take for them to contact us with an interview time? I'm currently in the states getting the kids ready to move, but my residence address is in Canada. It would be nice to have some time to prepare, rather than something saying "can you be here Thursday at 2?". Know what I mean?
Seems like you have AIP, so great news. Our letter was worded very much like yours, we got it on May 29. They gave us about 3 weeks notice for our landing interview in Calgary. The final interview is very simple, they just ask some basic questions, ie your name, do you have any children not on your PR app, and have you been arrested. No need to worry, start celebrating!
This is decision made - this is good news
They can't make a "final, final" decision until the landing interview in case anything has changed during processing (like if you murdered someone - an IO perhaps? :) ), then that would change things
So long as you & your sponsor are still an item and you've behanved - I'd say it's all done except for the landing!
Congrats!

This eases my mind a bit. The only thing that's truly changed is I'm now pregnant and wasn't at the time of the application or medical exam. There may be an issue with OHIP, but I'll deal with that when this hurdle is over.

One quick question....how long after you got the letter did you get one with the date and time of your interview? I'm wondering how long I have to vulture over the mailbox.
We got our letter from our local office on June 10 for our appointment on July 2. So about 3-4 weeks after our AIP letter. Our local office was Calgary, I am not sure how long other local offices take, but I would imagine around the same amount of time.
We got the letter from Oshawa today. There's no appointment date on it, just says to show up with passports, pictures, and cash. Looks like this is it.
Good luck to you! And congrats
