Hi guys
I got a letter from NY consulate office requesting my passport. I am very excited.. YES!!!!Bliss
Now i need help from someone who already have done it. Do i need to send them a prepaid envelope so that they can send me all my documents and passport. Some guideline will be highly appreciated.

Thanks to everybody and specially Robsluv for all the help.
Congrats on a speedy result. My hubby went in person to deliver and pick up his passport, but for sure you can send a prepaid envelope. Refer to guidlines on your letter of request.
Congratulations!!!
Told ya! :)
Congrats!

Thanks guys.. thanks so much
Sunlight hang in there. you will hear something soon as well... good luck
Yes, congratulations.

Ditto the response from janebond above with emphasis, especially on the advice to refer to the instructions provided with the passport request.

The instructions may vary depending on the visa office involved or the address to which the passport will be sent. So you need to read yours carefully (it took a couple readings for me to feel confident I understood my options well enough to do it right and in the way that was best for me).

It is always best to have tracking available for any documents like a passport or visa, going either direction.

I was "in Canada" at the time, and the visa office handling my application was Buffalo, and they specifically provide for including a Canada Post prepaid envelope for returning the passport (with visa affixed, the "oh yes this is good part") . . . but that involves their own courier transporting the envelope back across the border and sending it through the Canadian mail. Probably not the same process in the NY visa office. So review your instructions and do what it takes to protect these very, very important documents.
Congratulations!!
me too! Waiting for a result anytime now.
