Hi guys,
I need to sponsor my father, mother and sister who is 17 now and a dependant of my parents. I have no clue as to what the income i would need to show in regards to sponsoring them. I live in quebec and i go to Mcgill, i have a year and a half left for university. And please dont refer me back to the application form because i am confused. I need to know exactly how much i need to show, and yes my wife is willing to co-sign. Her income is not fully declared as she works in a restaurant. I have a seasonal business and whatever i make goes to school and rent for the whole year.
Also if anyone has already done a similar application, can you tell me the timeline im looking at, like 2 yrs , 3yrs, 5 yrs.
Time line for sponsoring parents depends on their country of residence. Time line info can be found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information...arents.asp

For income requirement in Quebec please refer to: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca...ponsor.pdf
Page # 24

Hope this helps.
Cheers
Quebec LICO scale

You & wife = 2 family members = C$27,787
Parents & sister under 18 = C$24,734

Total = C$52,521.00
thanks guys for all the help, one more question, once i submit the application it takes 3 years to start processing, does that mean even if my income is low now, as long as i can prove my income is 52k before they start processing, i shud be ok right? Also in quebec once federal processing starts they first send the application to Micc quebec if federal application of undertaking is aproved. So technically i shud have that amount of time before micc sends me other documents in which i have to prove my income.?
You have to meet the LICO before you submit the application and maintain it throughout the application process.
CIC can ask you at any time during the process to prove your income

Thanks DerbyGirl, one more question, my wife is not a cosigner, but our cumulative income is 60k, she makes 15k and i make 45k. My question is does they calculate my income only or the whole family income? Again it is said that in quebec my famly income shud be atleast 24000, and i need another 27000 or some odd to be able to apply, so the first 24k shud it be my income or my wife's income matter too? Also im guessing all the income details are in gross income. I have a business, and although the income is around 45k but i take home around 28 to 30 after paying everything. Does that matter?

If she doesn't co-sign, then only your income. The amount of income that shows on the option C on line 150 is taken as the income.

PMM
thanks a bunch
