Hi everyone - I've recently received my passport complete with PR Visa and my partner and I will be moving back to Calgary in Sept/Oct.
I am a graphic designer by trade and as I have a few months before moving to Calgary I would ideally like to put out a few feelers as to what the industry is like over there and perhaps email my portfolio etc. I currently live and work in the UK and a lot of people (mostly Canadians I have spoken to) seem to be under the illusion that the graphic design industry is a 'bit behind' in comparison to that in the UK/Europe.
I have worked in the design and print side of things for the past 8 years - I guess my problem is that I have very little experience with web-based stuff - which I know would be highly beneficial if I did.
Does anyone have any useful information or links or even experiences good/bad on finding employment with the Graphic Design industry - particulary within Calgary?
