I got my 2004 and 2005 assessments, and I have a question. I have an income from the States (Social Security Disability Income), and the first year I filed, the CRA charged me about $600 on approximately $6500 income. I understand that it's taxable here when it's not in the States, but I thought it was kind of ridiculous to tax me that much since people from Canada don't pay taxes on a small income like that. I'm going to follow up on it, but I'm just wondering if anyone else had an experience like this.

Now I owe $859 in taxes, penalties, and back interest! Welcome to Canada, eh?
