Today in the mail finally came the results of my husband's evaluation of his schooling in Switzerland. We found the World Education Services (WES) website and decided to have his schooling from Switzerland evaluated. The report says as follows:

Canadian Equivalency Summary:

Secondary school diploma, college-level certificate in business from a recognized community college and completion of an undergraduate certificate-level program at a recongized university.

My husband had two papers analyzed by WES. The second one states:

The credential is: Title of Accountant with Federal Professional License
Major/Specialization: Accounting
Canadian Equivalency: Completion of an undergraduate certificate-level program.

My question is, what exactly is an undergraduate certificate-level program? I believe it is more than just a diploma but not sure of exactly what it is. If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

The good thing with WES is that you can use this evaluation report when applying for jobs or applying to colleges and universities. They actually recommend that you indicate your results in the cover letter you send for employment as well as including this information in your resume. According to their website WES is the credential evaluation service that is recognized by the Ontario Government.

As it has been hard for my husband to find a full time job, we are hoping that this evaluation will help him in the job search and maybe he can enroll in school to get an MBA.

Danielle
