How you doing Mr & Mrs Biggles......
Always nice to hear from fellow UKers.....
I moved to Kelowna with my Finance last November well technically at the moment am only visiting but we shall see what happens.
If you want any info on Kelowna or the general area please let me know would be glad to help.
We know the area fairly well and travel about a lot visiting other parts of the Okanagan/Kootenays.
All the best
Thanks for the intro Joohliya!
Hi Bam Bam
I' ve just been having a look at your web-site, fantastic photies! Can't believe you were living in Preston of all places. We live just up the M6 in Lancaster. I did alot of my post grad stuff at UCLAN.
I am a Neonatal nurse at Royal Lancaster infirmary at the mo, apparently neonatal nurses are in demand in BC. I am having telephone interviews with province health authority and need to decide on a location and hospital for the next stage.
We both like the look of Kelowna and Kamloops, so it depends which hospital I can get a job. They are offering a good relocation package and visa via the province nominee programme, just playing the waiting game at the moment. The person who needs to interview me next is on hols!
I'm sure we will have loads of questions for you.
Just wanted to say HI
Thanks Mrs B
Please exchange e-mails and discuss your personal relocation needs outside FAMILY CLASS forum. THANX A LOT!

Hee hee! Just out of curiousity, what's the origin of 'Joohliya'? A mis-spelling of Julia? Must know!!! :)

Cheers for the offer! I don't mind telling you I'm just a bit envious that you're in Kelowna!! Everything we've been told makes the place sound terrific - we just can't wait!
Have you found work over there?
[FONT=Book Antiqua]Cheers again!
Hi Guys
Its a small world indeed!!!!!!!
I actually went to school in Lancaster for a few years as well.....
Good luck on the job hunting i am sure you guys will find what you are looking for...
Another couple of places that are great for living here are Coldstream (near Vernon) which is perhaps one of the nicest neighbourhoods i have ever seen, right next to an amazing provincial park and near vernon and kelowna.
Also, Lake Country which is just down the road.
Personally i have never taken to Kamloops but that is just a personal opinon of course.
I haven't found any work yet because i am still waiting on my PR to come through.... it's a slow process... so my other half is still supporting me!
If you want to email and ask any questions, and avoid upsetting RENTA any more please email at:

All the best

I started you off in the 'wrong' place. oooops. I guess I should be more careful :) You are now in the right place and can chat to your hearts content without messing with the protocol. I want to hear about Kelowna too so don't totally hide in your email.
In fact, bam bam... I am going to delete your email address from your thread for additional security.
Thanks Joohliya!

Bam bam - funny, a few people now have said Kamloops isn't especially endearing. I think we're starting to take the hint
.
Kelowna sounds great but the houses are so much more expensive... I guess we'll make the sacrifice! Are the houses a bit cheaper around the outskirts of Kelowna?
[FONT=Book Antiqua]And much, much, much more importantly (yes 3 'muches').... can I buy a cheap Pontiac Trans Am there?? Hee hee!!
how about Golden??? Revestoke? Venon? Westbank.... go check those cities out, I like it, right size, party town...
Westbank- yes. the others... finding a job has to be a consideration. Party potential... probably not so much. Vernon is pretty - but very small. If Mr. B wants to find work in his field he will need to be careful about the size of community he looks at.
Westbank is across the lake from Kelowna and has a nice bridge that gets you there. I am sure there are other areas too on the Kelowna side.
Must admit my 'partying' days are a couple of years behind me now!

A barbecue and plenty of wine and beers in the back garden (with a hot tub) and some good friends is pretty much all I ask for nowadays!
Hmm. I just described a party didn't I.

you don't wanna know how we party, OMG. in Nanaimo, hahaha!!
usually we have 10--20 young folks, at least bring band..
Gotta be very noise, yep...I have big lot. (not my home though, if my landlod is not here, we party, haha!)
Dubee, of course, no chemical plz.....this is Vancouver Island...
BBQ is cool, because we all brew beer or wine, bring those..
I have kareoke at home.

wine country!!!!!!!!!!!
You can spend 5 dollar and taste all kind of wine....
I think Mr.B is a RN right??? They need a lot of nurses there...
Oh, mention about RN, my classmates all wondered when I will come back to college to keep going my RN, i guess i have to wait until I finish PR and part-time LPN to RN then... might take about 10 years.

Mrs. B is the nurse - I faint at the sight of a hospital. Lucky I married a nurse really.
Tell you what though.. I never met anyone with more job satisfaction! It's not a job, it's a calling!
