my file has transffered to CIC Local Office in Etobicoke in October 2008 still no reply from those people.
I have applied in Vegriville in April '2008. I been rejected for first stage approval, i dont know why ?
Is there anybody who is experiencing same situation ?

1. At either Mississauga or Etobicoke you could be waiting up to 18 months for an interview.
2. You should order your FOSS notes now to find out why you didn't receive first level approval.

I understand it is an automatic if you don't have legal status.
First of all, Etobicoke is one of the busiest offices in all of Canada - backlogged for up to two years. So you've got a long wait ahead of you.
There are several reasons that an application will be transferred from Vegreville to the local office before first stage approval - 1) doubts about the genuine relationship that necessitate an interview; 2) applicant did not have valid temporary status in Canada at the time of application; or 3) criminal (or, rarely, medical) inadmissibility.
You might want to
order your FOSS notes to see if you can get any indication of why your file was transferred.
I had similar situation. Best thing you should do is get your foss notes to find out why your application has been transfer to local office. Then you can proceed..

File Transfered to etobicoke office on Sep 10
I have sent almost everything but i am a refugee so might be it is sent to etobicoke.
I called 1888 they said i have to wait for 6 months for pre approval and another 18-24 months
Can someone explain me more in detail please

Hi i am too in the same boat did you call the call center. I was told i have to wait 6 months for an interview. But how can a call center people say 6 months exactly to wait for interview?
They can't really - although they should be able to tell you how long it's taking at each local office for a file to come up in the queue once it's been transferred. Some of the busy office have queues backlogged for up to two years, others are much less busy. Etobicoke is one of the worst, though.

Interview Requested at Etob Oct 2010
AIP & OWP sent out that day by etob

when did you get the letter from the Ectobicoke Office for the interview? Were you able to get the name of your assigned IO?
when they transferred you, did they ask for any futher updates?

ps: my application was just transferred, dont know what to make of it.
I was having the same issue as you are facing.I applied for three times and everytime they rejected before letting me know the reason..So finally i decided to file a case against them and let them know me whats the reason behind it...
