Does anyone know if my son has to fill out paperwork or FBI check with mine if he has no plans on applying for permanent residence? When you read the paperwork it says that ALL family members must fill out background check and fill out paperwork. If that is true then I assume I have to do the fingerprints for him as well and then do I have to wait to include his with mine? I am sooooo confused!! Thanks for help.
Go back and read the Applicant's Guide again - there's a lot of important information in it that you need to digest so that you can fill out the forms properly. Properly filled out forms = faster processing and eliminates the risk that they will return your application for corrections.

The family class includes, among others, persons who are the sponsor's
• spouse
• common-law partner
• conjugal partner
• dependant son or daughter (see Dependent children)
Dependent children

B.
The application form IMM0008 then says under, "Details of Family Members" - You must provide the following details about each of your family members whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not. You must include your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse or common-law partner, who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada.

Only applicants defined in Form IMM0008 have to undergo medical and criminal examination.
