if the CIC asks me to provide them with more documents before they can approve, is there a deadline as to when I should produce the documents? they have not given me a deadline explicitly but i am wondering....I have to do the medicals and FBI background check and if I submit them in March so that I can get to canada in the summer, is that ok?
I'm not sure what kind of documents they are asking you for, but I would not recommend waiting 6 months before supplying them. There are no guarantees when you will get IA (particularly if CIC is kept waiting for necessary documents) or your visa. I wouldn't recommend holding up the process. Is there a reason you don't want to submit them now?
do not delay. I think there is usually a 90 -120 day limit.
At the Paris embassy they give you a deadline. If you miss it - they assume you are no longer interested in immigration.
You usually have 1 year from your medical to land so that gives you the window that you are looking for if you respond promptly. I would not risk delay.
