CAIPS is pointless until the IA and then you should not require it unless you are called for an interview or refused.

PMM
I respectfully disagree. I ordered CAIPS before my IA and determined that I had passed the background and security checks and was able to make an educated guess as to when my IA would be based on my BFD. Depends on your purpose for ordering, I suppose, but it did give me some peace of mind. On the other hand, the notes did show that the request I made in Canada had been sent to someone in Buffalo, so those who say that the office processing your request don't know that you've ordered CAIPS because it's all done from the central computers and doesn't involve the office doing the processing aren't completely accurate. For that reason, I probably won't order again unless there's a significant delay in my PPR.

One thing to note is that if there are multiple people on the application and only one person orders CAIPS, the information for the co-applicant/dependents will not be sent unless that person signs a release (on the same website with the CAIPS form, I think) authorising the release of their information to the person doing the ordering.

50 weeks is probably a bit soon to expect anything from Buffalo at the rate things are going....our IA came at like 56 or 58 weeks, I think.

Hope this helps,
Michael
CAIPS indicates next coming BF date, which always gives you idea of how your case processing.
U know, since order CAIPS is free and very easy. Do it anyway. Harp, you can order CAIPS now and see if there is anything happens....

but AOR letter isn't always right.
My AOR letter indicates that 32 weeks, in fact I wait for 88 weeks for my medical form arrives...
of course the reason why my case was delay is because of changing employer and work permit.
Thanks all for the valuble inputs

it wil lbe 55 weeks after my AOR so i think its a better time to order one and find out whats happening.
hey DB can you help me on this pls ?? like how do i go about paying for it and whom to send the request to ??
thanks for the time guys

Because you do not live in Canada, therefore you can not order
"Personal Information Request". instead "Access Information Request" only. With 5 dollar charge, find your friends who live in Canada could help you maybe.
well if you don't have friends here, then you have to pay for the third party like CAIPS.com

good luck harp.... i still have no update yet.

usually takes up to two weeks to get your caips if you order from local provincial office. all depends on your own timeline
