Well, finally after 15 months, our e-CAS says something other than "We started processing your application on August 3, 2005." We got our IA dated 20 August 2006 and I did my medical exam on 2 October 2006 and it was received by Ottawa on 23 October 2006. (My partner did his medical exam in July (before being asked) back in Ottawa). This morning our e-CAS status had added "Medical results have been received."

Hopefully the next step will be a Passport Request very soon. What are some other possible next steps? A request for more information? A request for more medical tests? Delay because of quotas? Anything else likely?

Thanks!
Michael

i did my medical on Sep 23, haven't heard anything it..
Damn it.... I suppose to go to NYC to celebrate my Christmas.

well, if no PR, probably not going, just go to Vancouver then...lol..
Great news! You should be getting your PPR any time. It took 3 weeks for us between the date Ottawa received our medicals and PPR; then just 2 weeks until we got our visas. After the long wait for IA, it's going really fast right now, especially for out-of-Canada applicants (sorry, DB).

CIC usually request further information when you get your IA; typically medicals are the last step from your end. And unless your doctor had any concerns about your tests, I wouldn't expect any problems or requests for anything further. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been a slowdown in processing as we get toward the end of the year this year (I think it was not the case last year around this time, if I remember correctly), so I wouldn't worry about quotas. Not sure how that affects Americans anyway, since there are so few of us heading north!

Let us know when you get PPR!
Will do, thanks. They did request more information at IA -- about my job, our finances, and more documentation of our relationship. Would be nice to know if all that was to their satisfaction but I'm assuming they'd have asked for more before now if it wasn't. Hard to fathom CIC though. Thanks. :-)
The post just arrived and our passport request was in it. Woo hoo!
