I wait about 16 month before I received my IA..
Well, in my case it's been almost more than those 28 months for the 80% of the cases and I guess my case is stuck because nothing has happened. Recently the CIC told me that they still don't know when they are going to schedule our interview because they didn't expect to have so many cases, in the mean time my partner and I have to be apart. Neat!

We order the notes as soon as we found out that we needed to attend the interview. That was more than a year ago. The interview is for the CIC to confirm that we are indeed a couple. I'm in Bogotá Colombia right now, and my partner moved back to the US to apply since his job is what qualifies us to move to Canada. But he can't quit and move here, that would be a problem for the application. So we have to be apart and wait in the mean time. I can't go to the US because at the embassy they know my partner lives there, so they won't give me a visa.
To me is stupid that the CIC wants an interview to prove that our relationship is for real, but they make us wait all this time to just prove it!
