I have been in Toronto since March 2009; my husband and I got married in September 2009 :)

August 7, 2009 - Visitor extension filed
November 25, 2009 - Visitor extension approved, record valid thru Nov 2010
Nov 30, 2009 - Application mailed
Dec 1, 2009 - Application received
Good Luck! Fingers crossed for a quick process :)

thanks! I'm hoping so too :) I'm pretty encouraged by those with similar cases in the past half year or so. Since we don't have any complications (children, criminal record, etc) I'm confident a decision won't take more than 5-6 months. Thumbsup
Sponsorship approval on Jan 4th, 2010 :) File has been forwarded to Buffalo for now. Longer delay because of the holidays and a missing signature that had to be faxed...
Update: Received my AOR from Buffalo today, January 19th. File was received by them on January 12th. Moving along smoothly so far!
BLAH. Received a letter today saying they got my medicals, but that I need to submit an FBI clearance letter. I SENT IT IN. I had so much trouble just getting the damned thing on time from the FBI, I'm going to be pissed if CIC lost it.

If you kept a copy, send it attached to a case specific email.

Ugh, unfortunately I didn't. It was the one thing I didn't make a photocopy of since they don't accept anything but an original. I sent Buffalo an email yesterday asking about the situation, and included some correspondence I had from the FBI. Hopefully I can get this resolved soon. Thanks for the reply :)
Received Request for Permanent Residence fee today (Feb. 3)! Although it's great news, I'm confused about what's going on with my case. I haven't received an answer from CIC about my FBI record....as in, did they lose it and I need to get a new one? :O
Congrats carel, seems they aren't concerned with your FBI, or will let you deal with that after the fact. If it was me, I'd pay the fee and keep the application moving along. Congrats, all the best.
Apparently not, moby. I finally got a response from them today saying they located my missing FBI file. At least I don't have to get a new one!
Well I'm glad they found it. Good for you.
Received my passport request today, 3/15/2010, earlier than expected. Woohoo!
Congratulations! I'm envious.
Congratulations on such a speedy process, even with the delays, that's very quick!
