Hello, I'm Andrea. I have been in process since October 2006. I'm from California..
Matt and I met in September 2003 online. After hours and hours of conversation he made the trip to California to visit. I never thought I would meet anyone online, not to mention a person I would be spending the rest of my life with.
It's been 3 years now, and despite the immigration process we couldn't be happier. This August, we'll be getting married in Toronto.

Hey, it is a disclaimer they should include - no doubt about it. I'm also a Californian (born and bred) relocated to Ontario! So where are you from in California? I'm from the Central Coast. And where are you in Ontario? We're in Barrie. We met online also - in Sept 2002, and waited until August 2003 to meet. He also flew to California for our first meeting. We're very happy - and tired to waiting for this whole process to be done with - but glad to be together. We had a few complications along the way so weren't able to file our application until after we were able to marry. Our ap was received by Mississauga on March 14 and has been sitting in Buffalo now since April 26. I have two sons still in California who, although they aren't coming to Canada, have complicated things a bit for us as far as our application - so I don't expect to be finished until sometime this Fall or Winter.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers

I'm from central california as well..just more inland. kern county. We're in Toronto.
When I last spoke with an IO I was told I should expect to hear something by september from the local office, but that once an application is transeffered to a local office they have up to a year to make a decision.

Welcome to the forum.. and I agree.. there really should be a disclaimer!

Best wishes,
