Well, I just updated my timeline. Still waiting for CSIS. Yawn.

As an aside, I just ordered my FOSS notes again - this time from both local CIC and Vegreville simultaneously. Thought I'd have a little race and see which one sends them to me first :)
Vegreville won, although 2 weeks is slower than they have been in the past. Of course, as usual the most interesting pages were sent to Ottawa, but it does show a new BF date... 1 Feb 2008 :-S
**** matthew
i know the timeline they say for inland is anywhere from 12 to 18 months but i have rarely seen anyone go beyond roughly 12.
do you think they are dragging there heels.
do you think you will get your decision made on your next BF date,
i hope so mate, seems like an eternity for what looks like a straight forward case to me
steve
oh, man - that BF is brutally far away! Why so long?? Eek
(i am not going to order my FOSS notes again. it's just going to frustrate me more... my timeline is a month behind you so far, so i am afraid to see a later BF date). I am patiently waiting for your e-cas tracker to let me know that something had changed...
Mine took 16 months, and was straight forward, no criminal background, no dependents, no former spouses. Plus my CSIS was done before I got AIP. Sometimes you fall in a hole for no valid reason.

Who knows. I've confirmed with CSIS that they still have the file and have not yet finished the security check and returned it to CIC.

My best guess is that it's taking them half a year to decide that the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development isn't some sort of threat to Canada.Or maybe they don't like the Sierra Youth Coalition. Meh... "Politically active" = CSIS clearance takes forever.
You are probably right. I used to be a member of a civil-rights organization in Israel for 1 year (I actually only paid for a membership and was never involved in any way... too lazy) and i didn't mention it on my application for fear of being marked as "political activist" or whatnot... (paranoia kicking in now- what if CSIS finds out and marks me as Liar????....Eek)
you know that shortly we will be sitting back laughing at this whole mess... right?Mg
Vancouver has scheduled my landing for March 31st... almost 1.5 years to the day after I sent in the app. Wish I'd know it would be that slow.
Sorry it took so long for you but am very happy that it is almost over now. Yippee Congratulations!!!!!
congrats matthew!!!!!
Congrats, Matthew! You're almost there!!!
So glad you have your landing interview scheduled . . . I join everybody here sending heartfelt congrats - you have been a pillar of strength and patience and you SO deserve this!!!
wooohooo! congratulations!! so happy for you! Magic
They do seem to drag it out to the point where any excitement you should be feeling is muted by a feeling of exasperation. I'll say welcome finally just in case CIC forgets to tell you at your landing.
