Jan 09 2008 Received another CAIPS extract. "Satisfactory proof of relationship" "interview waived"
Jan 21 2008 Visa issued. (unknown of us, of course)
Jan 28 2008 DHL package arrives with passport and all our personal proof. Ecas updates to Decision made.
Feb 07 2008 Wife has a totally uneventful flight over and arrives in nasty cold Winnipeg (-20s with -30s the next week)

We started processing <your loving wife's> application on October 2, 2007.
Today my wife received a letter from the Canadian embassy in Manila requesting her passport.
Nothing else was requested so I guess our application was complete.
Wow, that is amazing and awesome. Hope this will be an encouragement to others processing through Manila!!

Is it possible if u can provide me with some of the stuff you sent as ur evidence? (We're applying outside of canada and our case will be processed in Manila as well - so we're just wondering if the evidence we provided are enough)

We had an online relationship so no phone records or letters but we did include cards and airline tickets from my trip over to the Philippines.
Also, we had a chat log from the several years we conversed via yahoo, sent that along (all 200 pages :)
I also had letters from friends/family discussing us and their opinions of our relationship.
I had put April on my life insurance and benefit plan at work so sent a copy of that.
Lots of photos of course, our trips together, wedding photos (the 'small' 100 person Philippine wedding :)
Other things suggested are joint bank accounts N such (but since Canada banks are so strict, that wasn't possible for us) A copy of a will with your wife in it....
Oh, co-owned land/house? (also hard to actually pull off)
I'm sure there are others, but that's what comes to mind at the moment.

Hi skywise, thank you for your reply. With our case, we had an online relationship as well. We have phone bills, photos, letters, cards, airline tickets, movie tickets, joint bank accounts, letter of support from my side of the parents (sponsor) - because we're in our early 20s and im currently unemployed and attending part time school.
we had a small marriage ceremony, and planning to have another one soon some time next year. it's our first marriage for the both of us.
so yeah, i'd say our case is pretty simple. I dont know why i still havent heard from CIC yet. it says they started processing our file on oct 29..and it's been 3 days now and we're still not past our first stage =(
starting to worry guys =( could there be something wrong with our case? ><

We received another CAIPS extract
Lots of information in this one, including mention of almost all our proof.
Important lines are:
"Satisfactory proof of relationship provided, willing to proceed"
"Interview waived"
Looks like April will be here soon!!!
We're sending another request for CAIPS extract but my feeling is that April will have her passport back before it comes.

January 28th.
I get a call at midnight from my very excited wife, DHL delivered her passport and all our personal proof!!!
Around 9 the same day ecas updates to 'decision made'
The visa was actually issued Jan 21st but I guess was too close to hit the ecas update for that week.
My wife will be with me on February 7th!!!
