Can anyone advice me on what to do form here? am very frustrated. am currently in school, paying an arm and a leg on international fess because am not landed as yet and I have been waiting for 2 years. I faxed CSIS regarding the status of my background check and they have not gotten back to me. Should I call the director of CIC in vegreville as I read in one of the threads? Am so desperates because of my schooling.
Hi cmiss I also had to pay fees for my children to go to school but only until I got proof that we had applied for immigration so we took the receipt that we got from the bank to the school board , no more fees were paid but they do need to have study permits which we found out later . We landed last week .

good luck!
Thanks a lot. I gave my college my AIP letter and they send that they could not change my status until I was actually landed so they are treating me as a foreign student. I got my study permit too but I think colleges make no expcetions.
Hey Guys. Am sooo happy. I got the letter today from CIC for my landing interview on March 18. A day before my bd. What a great present. Can you imagine that that is all I asked God for my bd and He answered my prayer! BlissBliss:bliss:Can you Imagine it had been 3 years since applying?
That's so awesome. :) He works in mysterious ways. Congratulations!
Thanks. Am just looking at your time line. how come it took so long to get your PR Card?
It's not that long - 30 days is standard, and that's only maybe 38.
really? ok thanks. guess it won't hurt to wait for 30 more days after waiting for 3 years.
Cmiss, congratulations on your landing interview!!! When we landed, the IO stated that we would receive our PR cards within 4-6 weeks. I received mine right at 3 weeks(last week) but we havent received my sons yet.
Thanks and congratulations to you too. Wow, I hope I get mine that fast. I can't wait to see my family. I haven't seen them for 6 years!. I hope you get you sons PR card soon.
Hey guys, So I guess am one of the new PR's in Canada. It was pretty easy and we were there by 8am out by 8:50 because we had paid the fees earlier on. Those who has not paid were asked to go to the next room and pay as the rest were being served. Only two questions were asked as they usually do. (any dependants, any convictions). The IO was female. She was hilarious, she gave my DH an extra pic to put in his wallet to remember me and asked my DH to take me out to have a double celebration. (My bd and the landing!). It's amazing how nice they were. I wish they were as nice while processin out applications. Nway, am sooooooo happy. Now waiting my PR card and ready to travel and see the world!! Bliss Bliss:bliss:Am very grateful for this forum and for their help as I read many peoples' experiences that encouraged me. God bless you all.
