Just adding, my husband has gotten or will in a week or two, get his US passport. On the 28th he flew to Halifax to apply for it at the US Consulate since we do not have one in Newfoundland.
We're excited by the current processing times and hope that they keep up over the holidays.
That much closer to be finished.
Got passport couriered back to us today. Will be mailing off fingerprints and required passport pages to CIC in the next week or so once we've exactly figure that out.
Still closer. Especially with them currently up to June 10th thank you very much! :)
March 7th 2008,
Got an e-mail from e-cas.

We sent you a letter on March 6, 2008 to * ******* *****, Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, *** *** about approval in principle for you to become a Permanent Resident of Canada. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.
I've been sick all morning and heh when I opened my email this made my stomach flip even more. Is it good is it bad? Won't know for another little while yet. Of course I am hoping for good. Husband will have more fingerprints redone tomorrow and we'll send them not long after that. I hate that we're having to redo them even though we had them done, but with the way our year had been going, even immigration things got put on hold.
So here's hoping that this is going to be good news. I don't want 2008 to be like 2007.

I cannot say 100% but everytime I have seen someone get this message about AIP it has been positive. The next step will be getting the DM letter, that can take a few months so try to be patient. It sounds like you had a rough start, but from what I see it looks very positive.
Best wishes.

We would have had all the remaining things in and there before it got this far. We just need to send in three sets of finger prints. Two state and the fbi. We had them all done, but then California sent our oringals back and needed them redone.
In the middle of trying to gather things together to redo them, my youngest brother passed away quite unexpectedly so ... ahh everything got put on hold. So, Monday more fingerprints will be done and sent off accordingly and then forwarded to CIC. There'll be further delay but if we get this far and he does get his OWP and the ability to stay, then we can live with the further wait.
Certainly hoping for the posetive.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I very much appreciate them.

March 10th 2008 - 3 sets of fingerprints redone. Being sent on the 11th of March 2008.
March 12th 2008 - Recieved 3 letters from CIC. 1) I have been approved as sponsor. 2) Husband is approved in principal, but needs to send in fingerprints and passport page. 3) Husbands work permit.
March 12th 2008 - Submitted Husbands SIN application.

That's great new mandab
Congrats to you and your family!
Copy paste from CIC ecase. Only things missing are things how we waited a huge amount in between things, for no real reason other than we could. Which is horrible to say but true. And when we sent in new fingerprints, medical and things there in May, though it says the information was received. But we're DONE! Even with allowing things to drag out ourselves, it really was not as bad as I first was imagining it when we started everything. Oh how I remember crazy stressful nights and posts while very pregnant trying to figure this out.
