My husband is Canadian citizen and I am US citizen. We have known each other since 2000 and were married in 2002.

We received your application for permanent residence on February 22, 2007.

We started processing your application on February 28, 2007.
Medical results have been received.

We received the requested information on May 17, 2007. Thank you for providing the information. (FBI and State Clearances, they didnt request this info, but I guess this is the format they use to verify that they received the info)

We sent you a letter on September 5, 2007 to, Alberta, Canada, about approval in principle for you to become a Permanent Resident of Canada. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

We sent you a letter on September 5, 2007 to, Alberta, Canada, about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

We received the requested information on September 24, 2007. Thank you for providing the information. (OWP application, same as above, they didnt request it)

We received the requested information on October 25, 2007. Thank you for providing the information. (this is the letter, about my son not doing his medical/background clearance, that they received on Sept.18 but they just applied it to my case on Oct. 25) At least I know they finally got it!

We received the requested information on January 4, 2008. Thank you for providing the information. (this letter, statuatory documentation about my son, was mailed to CIC on Nov.16,2007. Canada post shows them receiving it on Nov.18, 2007. I called last week and they said they had received it but it is just now showing up on E-case)

January 7, 2008 - received letter from CIC stating processing of my application was completed and that CIC Edmonton would be contacting me.

January 10,2008 - received letter from CIC Edmonton stating our interview is scheduled for Jan. 30,2008.
CIC finally opened my letter.LOL Of course I had called last week and the lady said they had it but I guess it took them to Friday to post it on E-cas. Hope that means someone is looking at my file. :)
that's good news... something is moving there! hope this is the beginning of the end for you!Thumbsup
thanks dool, I hope it will be soon. :)
crossing fingers!!!!! hugs to you, not much longer now im sure of it!!!
Rabsister, there's something I don't understand -

"We sent you a letter on September 5, 2007 to, Alberta, Canada, about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us"

If you got DM then what's holding up the case?
It wasn't DM on the application--it was the DM on AIP. I got the same thing in my E-cas.
Thats what I thought when I saw Decision Made back in Sept. but as Gentle stated it was only Decision made for AIP since I am doing inland application. I do think that mine is taking longer because I have a son in the States that is not moving to Canada and he will not take his medicals and background clearances. He has no intentions of moving to Canada and he is 21 will be 22 in Feb. and he believes its just a waste of about 500 dollars to do that when he has no intentions of moving here. He still has a year and a half left at the University he attends and then he will be going to a seminary to study and then off to Japan to do missionary work.(or vise versa, not sure if he does his missionary work first then seminary) I cant argue with him, he is a grown man and been living on his on for almost 2 years. Thats what the Statutory Declaration was all about. I had sent a letter explaining that I knew I couldnt sponsor him if he didnt do his medicals and background checks with the original PR application. Then sent another letter stating the same thing after I got AIP. Then they send me a letter stating it has to be a Statutory Declaration notarized. Sure wish they would have told me that after the first letter I sent them.LOL So hopefully this is all they will want. Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
I see. thanks for clarifying that for me, both of you....
I really hope this will be over soon for you!
Now I am wondering if it will after seeing RobsLuv post. I am in tears. If they deny me, I cant appeal because we filed inland. :(
If you are refused paula can you file again but outside this time? or do you have to wait a certain amount of time.impraying sooo hard for everyone here Cry
I have no idea what or if there is anything we would be able to do.
I went to the post office yesterday evening and found a letter from immigration. This is what it says:

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in EDMONTON will contact you concerning your permanent resident status.

So does this mean we are approved?

The Right of Permanent Residence Fee of $490.00 for each applicant 22 years of age and over is required before you can become a permanent resident in Canada. To date this fee has not been paid.

I did send in the $490.00 for myself. My son is only 16. I paid online on Sept. 19, 2007. What should I do about that?

Please note: At the time of your appointment, you and your family members, if any, will be required to present the original identification document(s) to the Canada Immigration Centre. A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be made at that time. If permanent residence is granted the name that will appear on the confirmation of PR document is your name as it appears on your passport or identity documents.

Does this mean they havent made a decision and they will tell me face to face? Also, when they are talking about original identification document, are they talking about my passport and my sons as well?

One other question, does my son and husband both need to go to this meeting?

I am so nervous now, I thought I would just get a letter stating I had been approved or denied.
If I were a betting person, I am thinking this is positive. I think they have to say they are making the final decision because your COPR hasn't been signed yet. You do that whenyou go to the local office (Edmonton). Someone from Edmonton should be phoning you soon to set it all up. I asked them questions when they phoned me just to ease my mind! LOL
Everyone involved in the sponsorship has to be there and have a current passport (ID). My spouse went with me and they welcomed her into the group when I landed, so I would think it's ok to have hubby there. If your son is being sponsored he has to be there too.
If you have already paid the landing fee you should have a receipt, bring that with you also. If you are concerned about that, talk to them when they phone you to set up your landing.
Cheers!
