Hey guys how are you all doing? Things are going well here.. our new house in Hamilton is great etc... Still waiting on my fiance's divorce to be finalized (takes forever in Ontario my goodness..). My questions today are:

1) Do I have to wait for the marriage certificate to submit along with the application? How long does that take?

2) Regarding bringing my car in to Canada, it is financed with Capital One who I wrote an email to to see if they would allow it to be done. Anyone here successfully import a financed car with permission? I know it is admissible because it has the DRL and switches from MPH to KPH with the push of a button :P

3) Is my car considered "goods to follow" or do I have to pay the full import fees?

4) Do i send the RFPRF with the application or upon request? I've seen it both ways and I wonder if it will totally slow down the process if I wait.

5) My fiance was still married when we met and left the household a week after we met. There is a separation agreement that was composed at that time. How do I address this in the application? We met BEFORE the "written" separation...although they were done with their relationship ages before..." Do I say we met on such and such day but started dating on "day he got his own house"? I don't want this is be messed up because of these details...
We got married in Ontario and we were told that it would take 10 weeks to get our marriage certificate...but my wife decided to order on line around 4 weeks after our wedding..and to our surprise 2 weeks later we got our certificate! So..it took 6 weeks in total.

Here is the site to order online (for Ontario)

Sorry I can't answer any other question that you asked..wish I could.
1. You need to submit the marriage certificate with the application. Marriage is the basis of eligibility for the application, so it's important.

2. Unlikely they will allow it to be exported while under finance. I'd recommend you take out a Canadian loan to pay off the financing, then import it.

3. If listed on your "goods to follow" list at the time you land, it can still be imported later without paying duty.

4. It's better to send the RPRF together with the application if you can afford it. Not doing so will mean a 1-2 month delay later on, while they request the fee.

5. Be honest. As long as the previous marriage is now over, you show the divorce, and new marriage is genuine, you don't need to worry. If you met before they actually got divorced, that doesn't change the fact that you are now married and in a genuine relationship.
As far as a car with a lien on it - fat chance is pretty well what I can tell you.
Here's a thread that might help

The car is "goods to follow" when you land

Yes, waiting to pay the RPRF can slow down your application a bit, if you have it now - send it in is my advice

#5 - yeah basically
Wife & ex were having issues, etc - you two met during that time - I mean, you met & during the following week a separation agreement was written up.

While I understand that you are important in her life, I'm not sure that meeting you precipitated that - unless of course this was an internet thing & you are talking about the first time you met in person and, well - you get the idea I think
So I guess i'm super lucky because I was contacted by Capital one auto finance today and they didn't make it seem like a big deal to bring the car over..i mean the request does go to a "review" box so its possible they don't know it totally... but they just want proof of insurance in Canada, a Canadian address and some sort of document for the reason (letter from employers etc in Canada) oh and the loan must remain on the Auto pay So thats a slight weight off my chest.
Can you even insure a US car in Canada? I'm under the impression that for a car to be insured they need to be imported.
I would assume such a large auto finance company would know what they are talking about...but it's also bad to assume.. part 4 in the document checklist is proof of insurance at destination..
If I had to guess - and it's still just a guess, that with Cap One also being in Canada that they would make you transfer the note there - no idea
