Due to family issues, my fiance and I have decided to get married where he is in the States instead of up here in Canada. I'm heading down there next week with my kids for the wedding and I'm wondering if I'm going to have any difficulty at the border if I state I'm going to get married. Anyone have any experience with this? Advice? Thanks so much.

If there's any way you can prove to them that you will be returning to canada, eg: copy of your job contract, or rental agreement etc, that will help tremendously. They just want to make sure you are not staying in the US to live.
When returning back to canada, if your new husband is returning with you, make sure to ask for a visitor visa (1 year if possible) for them to stay with you while you file for Permanent residence etc. Again, having proof of employment for yourself etc, will help show that you will be able to provide for your spouse who will not be able to work until all the paperwork is done.
I would not state to the border agents that you are going down to get married. You could find the US barring you from coming in saying that you need a fiance visa first. You're going down for a visit - it just happens that you are also getting married. Don't make problems for yourself.
Obviously, if they come right out & ask you directly - are you coming into the US to get married, don't lie - but don't volunteer either.
