Hi

We got a extension for my husband to stay until July 2010.

His application is still in process.

If by chance we haven't had a finalization on his application by late May or so can we ask for another extension?

And how are they with doing a 2nd extension.

Thanks

Yes, you can ask for another extension - same deal as before, just be sure that you get the application to them before his status expires in July. They'll approve it again, as long as his ap is still in process. I've had three so far - a year each. I'll probably need to apply again in June for my fourth.
Thank You

Hopefully this nightmare will be over before we need the extension.

I need a couple questions answered about that as well as I am totally confused with one thing... people keep saying that my (American) husband should be able to stay with me up in canada just because we are married. I never thought it was that easy... is that what people get extended visits for? But he wouldnt be able to work in Canada until the paperwork is pushed through right? Also, we are filing an OUTLAND application so wont all of his papers go to his USA address so he has to be there anyways after the marriage to receive them? I am just wondering if other people know something that we dont-- clarification would be nice. Thanks!
Hi

With an Outland application he can put down his mailing address as here in Canada and his Resident address as the U.S. His mail will come here to his mailing address.

Your husband can stay here up to 6 months and then he has to return. He can ask for an extension to stay longer but I would apply at least a month before the 6 months are up.

He is unable to work here until all paperwork is complete.

If you want more information on this please post a New Thread so you will get more members replying to your own message.
