Hi,
Sorry for the ridiculous question, but the Clearances came in individually sealed envelopes, can we open them? Or do we send them sealed? If it was imperative to leave them sealed, I'm sure it would have been posted here somewhere. I am so paranoid and seems any wrong move in this process creates serious delays. I would hate to wait 12 weeks and void them by opening them? Please advise. Thanks.

Open them, only University transcripts have to submitted in university sealed envelopes.

Thanks PMM.

I appreciate the fast reply.

The difference was that I put on the outside of the envelope for the second one that it was for Canadian Immigration, and I needed it in 2 weeks. If there is nothing on the outside of the envelope, it gets dumped into line with all the other requests, and they get to it when they get around to it.
I too put on the outside of the envelope that it was for Canadian Immigration and that I needed it back in 2 weeks... that was about two months ago now :(
The FBI received my prints on December 7th and I received my letter back today. I wrote for immigration on the outside of the envelope. Hopefully everyone who sent there's in around that time will be getting them in the next few weeks.
I just received word from the FBI that my prints have been rejected. I have to get them done all over again, but they've already processed the fee, so I'm sure it won't be but a couple of weeks this time. We hope :/
May I ask what FBI number you called to get information on status of fingerprint clearance? I got my state clearance in less than two weeks and it has been about 4 weeks now with the federal clearance. I just need to make sure they are processing it. Thanks.
Nosh
*Found it myself but thanks anyway. For those reading, Feds told me they are about 13 weeks out on processing. Good luck to you all.
I was told they were no longer expiditing immigration background checks due to high volume and that it would be 8 weeks before I would even be in the system, even though I wrote the cover letter and envelope for it to be completed by March 31st. I tried to send the email, so we will see what happens. I was told that you can include the emails as proof that the delay isn't your fault and you can send on your application.
I mailed mine out march 1st.... or thereabouts..... and just got it back today.
About a week after I was told what I posted above, I got mine back.. about 6 weeks total. I live in WV though so that may have made shipping faster.
