Hi, for those of you who are already in Canada, do you know if a couple are allowed to rent a bachelor apartment? My wife and I are considering this option to save some dough, any input would be appreciated!
I believe a "Bachelor Apartment" is just a name given to a small dwelling unit that often has the living and bedroom spaces combined together in one room.
I don't believe there would be any restrictions on couples renting these units aside from the obvious constraint in space.
thanks, wongn! so am I right to say that landlords would not be reluctant to rent out bachelor apts to couples because they consume more electricity than someone who's staying alone? just wondering...

You may find that many landlords will not include electric in the rent and you will be responsible for the electric bill, so I doubt they would care if you are a couple in a bachelor suite.
Also always check the price of 1 bedrooms as well, sometimes the price difference isn't too much.
bachlor means one bedroom - perhaps a smallish kitchen.
