Thought now is a good time as ever for finally posting a timeline :)

Dec 07 2007 - Sent application to CPC-M
Dec 10 2007 - CPC-M receives application
Jan 03 2008 - CPC-M processes application, sends it back of missing doc
Jan 07 2008 - Receive application back and letter from CPC-M, send it back to CPC-M on the same day
Jan 08 2008 - CPC-M receives application
Jan 15 2008 - Receive letter concerning sponsorship approval, file sent to Buffalo
Jan 25 2008 - Buffalo sends AOR letter
Jan 31 2008 - Receive AOR letter

And now.. the real waiting begins.
I don't know if I should post this here or in the main forum, but I'm curious how long you guys had to wait after the AOR letter before further communication from Buffalo, such as an initial assessment letter? I'm hoping and praying they find everything in order and give us a decision quick... we've been married for almost a year and a half now, so hopefully the supporting docs, pictures, and other proof we sent along with our application will help out.
AOR dated 12/14/07... it will be 8 weeks on Friday that we've been waiting to hear something from Buffalo!
Well, there was a superminor update on ecas today... today apparently my address finally shows up on there. I was hoping for someting like "Medicals received" but I'll take what I can get, lol.
haha. I know what you mean! At least you know that someone is doing something with your file... :)
Wellllll, it's almost been 3 months.. haven't heard a thing from Buffalo. Part of me thinks its a good thing that we haven't been asked for additional info, another part of me is like, what could be taking so long?!
Ya'll don't even want to know the crazy dreams I have these days, like going to check the mail and there's my passport with the shiny visa already attached!
lol i know what u mean, i had all kinds of doubts and worries and second guessing did i fill out everything correctly, will my kid be inadmissable because of his bipolar or the trouble he got into, its awful but its worth it when u do finally get it, im sure u will be getting a PPR any day now!!
haha...are you kidding me
they started processing mine only a month ago and i check e-cas everyday, ridiculously hoping to see Decision made anyday. Ofcourse i will go Loco if i keep doing it for the next 3-4 months (hopefully).

I just hope this whole process gets done with by the end of this year so i can go on my vacation.
just_do_it, e-cas used to drive me crazy until i signed up for matthew's e-cas tracker! Now I just compulsively check gmail instead :D
haha.. theres an old saying
its like grabbing your ear. you can grab it with your hand going over your head or under the chin, same thing.
We received a request from Buffalo June 2 for a Louisiana state police check.. however, Louisiana does not do state police checks anymore (which is why I didn't send one in the first place), so after speaking to someone, I found out that I will have to get local checks from the two parishes I've lived in.

We contacted our MPs office three weeks ago, and they just got back to us. Turns out we passed"first stage approval" whatever exactly that means, they are waiting on my letter of no record, which after "processing should be quick", and my bring forward date is August 15.
Holy crap!! Ecas updated today, and it says "Medicals results received" after saying nothing but " We started processing your application on January 25, 2008" for months!

I'm praying the light at the end of the tunnel is near! Does anyone have any good stories of things moving along after seeing that on ecas?
I believe LovesickBlues changed to "meds rec'd" and DM at the same time.
mine started saying "meds rec'd"...I can't remember when - it's in my signature - but I'm "abnormal" anyways so - don't go by that...lol

At least it means that your file isn't languishing on someone's desk & it's actually being looked at - that's a big - yay! :)
I just ordered CAIPS again today after getting a call from the MPs office. So. Confused.

MPs office told me that apparently, criminality checks are outstanding at the moment and on July 30 they ordered an RCMP name check for me. Another bring forward date was given, this one is Oct 27.
Firstly, RCMP name check?? Isn't that one of the first things they do? And by criminality check did she mean, background/security (CSIS) check?
Because I thought a criminality check would mean FBI/state certificates + asking for an RCMP clearance (I am guessing if my name did come up during an RCMP name check, I would have received a letter requesting me to do fingerprints by now?).
Anyway, I hung up more dazed and confused as ever, I had so many questions, but the lady giving me this information didn't seem like she knew more than what was written in front of her.
My medicals expire in mid Nov, I don't know if I'll have to redo them or what. I think if I wasn't here with my husband during all this, I would be in tears by now. Does anyone have any advice for me? Should I fax CSIS and see if my file is there with them? Or just wait till I get CAIPS?
I responded on your thread in the general section, but I'll post here too.

My husband received a request for an RCMP background check because on his application we indicated that he had lived in Canada for a few months.

We took one of those background clearance forms that you sent in with the FBI check and the Buffalo address to our local Commissionaires.

The place we went to had digital prints so we had those done. The results were sent directly to Buffalo from them, within 72 hours. The fingerprint guy said that we should email Buffalo in about 3 weeks just to confirm that they were received, which they were.

I think it cost $55 or something.

This was the last thing Buffalo was waiting on so crossing my fingers for you that this will be close to the end for you!
TPSmitty, thanks for that, I replied to you in the other thread as well!
