Just curious...anyone else have their application sent from Buffalo to LA? My application was opened Jan 16th and sent to LA on Jan 28th. Just curious how quickly things get processed in the Los Angeles office...
Its impossible to know. My file was sent from Buffalo to New York back on Sept 17 and I have still not heard a word. Other people that submitted applications before and after me have already landed. It will just depend. Mine was clean, but who knows. Just keep positive.
Depends on the reason they transferred the file. Sometimes Buffalo will transfer files out if they're backlogged - they say to expedite processing, but it really seems it's more just to be able to meet their posted processing times. They also transfer files when there is a problem - if an interview is required or if there are possible inadmissibility issues that need to be researched. IF that's the case, it will take much longer.
Did your notification of transfer say anything like "to expedite processing"?
My husband's was transferred to Los Angeles "to expedite processing". He got a request for the RPRF back in November, and we haven't heard a thing since. :( Everyday we expect to get a passport request, but nothing so far... Ours is a clean, uncomplicated case.

Just goes to show - they put a good spin on it . . . "expediting" . . . but it's really only so that they can meet their
normal processing timelines. Still better than waiting longer than the posted timelines for finalizing because of a backlog. That's what you get with inland processing, and avoid with outland.
Mine doesn't say anything about the purpose for the transfer...just that my application was transferred and that I may hear from the LA office. I hope it will go quickly...(and I hope that if I get called for an interview they'll let me do it in Detroit since I'm practically in Detroit).
Mine is uncomplicated too...married, no dependents, clean criminal record, etc. The only potential "complication" is that my medical exam doctor didn't want me getting the chest Xray for my exam since I'm pregnant and had to get permission from Ottawa to get it waived until after I deliver (though he said it wouldn't affect my visa; I could land and still have it done afterward).
