hi
i have been reading all kinds of forums
and u have been helping a lot of people..
thought maybe u can help me also
i am trying to apply to canada from NY.
i got stuck in work experience
i have been working in one company for past 5 years, but i have only highschool diploma. i do not have college degree. i only have 1 years full time college credits.
now my question is under skill level and type will i qualify or not
i do not have any kind of certification from any institute or other places. after i finished 1 year of college i couldnt continue my education due to personal problem so i got this job. i work as inventory control for a diamond wholesaler, i do basic accounting such as invoicing and billing. i take care of the company website work such as taking pictures posting it in the web, taking care of inventory in the web. and etc
now with this experience will i qualify for 4 years + job experience or not..
i would really appreciate any kind of feedback.
thank you in advance
Pl read eligibility criteria at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/s.../index.asp
  • You have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment.
  • Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  • You must have had this experience within the last 10 years.
Nowhere it says you should have a college degree..
If U get reqd points (67) for FSW immigration, with the above conditions met regrding work exp, u r good to go..

I suggest you to find out ur skill type & relevant NOC code for ur job DESCRIPTION from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/noc.asp & make sure u meet the eligibility criteria..

Good Luck for ur PR appln.
