New update:
We transferred DERBYGIRLS's application to the Seattle office on May 28, 2008. The Seattle office may contact DERBYGIRL.
I'm SO happy!! :)
YIPPEE!!!!! I literally have your timeline and my timeline on a calendar so I can track how long it might take me to get the same kinda action as yours.
Some new info added -
30-June-08 - Medical results have been received.
I should hope so - I had them done 4.5 months before we sent in the application :)
Sent an email to Seattle on September 12 asking...
Transferred to Seattle on May 28, 2008
Is there any new information or anything you need from me to assist processing?
Their reply:
Officer needs to review your FBI report.
Please understand that our office cannot provide you with an update of case status by email on a regular basis, but rest assured that we will contact you for the next stage of the processing of your file.
Continueing to email this office for status of the case, will only delay the processing of your application.
Knowing we have a BF date of October 23 - we'll be sending in a request for CAIPS again at the end of October.
I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that there is a good chance we will be rejected.
We haven't decided if it would be better to appeal or just go for rehabilitation (though by then it would be 10+ years) and re-apply.
We're thinking option #2 would be faster/easier
Will cross that bridge when we get to it
Well - it's been a while since this thread was update....
Today - received a re-medical request from Seattle, they want that (sent to Ottawa) and and update Schedule 1 (sent to Seattle). My guy is irked because - well he is..haha
I'm telling him this is a positive sign - he's not happy, but it's "something" anyway - considering the BF date was March 2010. I'm guessing that the letter from the MP to Kenney's office might have done something considering they say on it for a year....dunno.
Next medical scheduled for the 22nd - first appointment available
Sorry it's taking so long... but good things something's actually moving, eh?
Thanks :)
I was quite happy with finally seeing something and we're taking it as a good sign

Update today w/ matthewc's e-CAS monitor
Came in @ 3PM (PST) today - so, not all e-cas updates are on Tuesdays
Latest update:
Medical results have been received.
This would be medical #2 done on December 22 - the DMP's office said it would be about 3 weeks before it was received in Ottawa. It's a few days past 3 weeks & Christmas & New Year's was in there so they were pretty well bang on.
Updated paperwork should be in Seattle on Monday so....hopefully something more soon *fingers crossed*
Today - a yellow envelope arrives from the Seattle Consulate
1 sheet of paper inside
I am so freaking nervous I can't even open it
But I do
It is not PPR as we were thinking
It is a letter asking for....
"A certified copy of your sponsor's Canadian passport or naturalization card."
60 days to return same
Amazingly enough - this letter is dated exactly 60 days after the last request (new meds & updated schedule 1) - that they wanted within 60 days
Needless to say, I was upset - my guy was livid.
Obviously we're going to comply with this, but he called his MP's office and is like...WTF? He's been approved to sponsor in April 2008, these things were sent in at that time.
Then I thought, maybe they've updated the rules & want this information certified now. So I checked the
checklist and nope, they aren't asking for certified now either.
So, all I can think of is - she hates me, she's pi$$ed that the MP got involved, something.
I wonder what she's going to want in another 60 days?
What complete and utter garbagae
I agree, this sounds almost 'Personal', they really need some oversight at the CIC
.....and it gets better.
So after we calmed down a bit - my guy called his MP's office & spoke with the wonderful lady we've been dealing with.
She must have fired off an email to Seattle right away because, this evening when he checked his email - he found this from the MP's office.
Quote: Mr. DerbyGirl
I received a response from Seattle. Besides the certified copy of your citizenship they are still waiting for results of DerbyGirl’s medical exam instructions mailed to her on December 2, 2009.
So, I guess - time to send a fax to the Regional Medical Office *sigh*
